We're off to a successful start here at Off the Agenda. Hopefully you've had a chance by now to get to know our team, and some of the people within the church community who have joined us to help shape the conversation here. And we really hope the posts you've read so far already have encouraged you, challenged you, and equipped you for the leadership roles you handle day to day.
But now that you know who we are, it's time to get to know you.
We'd love to see you comment to this post to tell us a bit about yourself.
We'd like to hear a little bit of your story--where you're from, where you lead, what kind of leadership role that you oversee. If you'd like, we'd love to hear some background on your church, the strengths you enjoy within your role, and the challenges you currently face.
As people respond to this post, take some time to read the comments from your peers. When an opportunity arises, respond to offer encouragement or ideas--or just to share in someone's triumph, big or small.

I guess I will be first. I am currently working on planting a church about 40 miles south of Atlanta Georgia. We should launch sometime in 2008.
I have worked in both the volunteer and fulltime ministry. I have done everything from running an in-house print shop for a mega church, to working as a church administrator for a 500 member church. However, planting a church is a new (and sometimes scary) frontier for me. I am in the process of building a team and consuming as much information as I can get.
Currently I work fulltime in the business world. I enjoy reading, history and spending time with the wife and three kids. I also serve as a deacon at my home church. Needless to say, I stay rather busy.

I am an Army Chaplain. I am currently serving in Iraq. I have lead a diversity of congregations: traditional collective Protestant, blended services, contemporary services in my 22 years as an Army chaplain. I have trained subordinate chaplains.

My name is Rob Daniels I serve on staff of a church in Bolingbrook, IL, Westbrook Christian Church. I serve the church as Pastor of Spiritual Formation. It's pretty fancy title which used to read "Christian Education"! Over the last 20 years I have served in a variety of places and roles.
When I first entered full-time ministry I lived in western Canada and served a church in Calgary, Alberta as youth and music pastor. We returned to the States and joined a new church plant and several college friends in the western suburbs of Chicago and served as the church's Creative Arts director. Most recently we have come back to Chicago by way of Indianapolis, Indiana.
As an person of color, serving in ministry has had it share of very interesting moments. I have served churched where the majority of those who are part of the church do not share my same ethnic background. It has been blast over the last few years serving here in Bolingbrook in a church that is multi-racial!
Can I recommend a couple of blogs...

My name is David Lind.
I just found this Blog today and found the request for information. My eye was caught by the Blog "When Sexual Sin Challenges Your Leadership" as that is the focus of my ministry. I am a PK that wandered. My testimony is on our website www.puremercy.org. My wife and I live in Largo, FL and our goal is to help keep others from hurting and being hurt through this vise of Satan. We are a brand new ministry having just incorporated in the last year. I am in school for counseling at the moment. Our idea is to begin with a mentorship style program and see where God leads.
God has led us to begin with a Dinner Study in our home this coming Sunday evening.
We covet prayers and are willing to listen to anyone that needs to talk about sexual addictions.

My name is Geof Patterson. I'm on the Council and a member of the Facilities Planning Committee at Roseville Lutheran Church in Minnesota. (Roseville is a northern suburb of St. Paul). I was asked to check out this blog and post a comment, as a participant in a BCL Usability E-Panel. I'm glad I did and I'll be back. God Bless.
