Off the Agenda: Conversations for Building Church Leaders

· “I feel a constant mourning in my spirit for the young men and women of my culture who are truly lost and do not recognize that undesirable conditions can be turned around if only they would trust and obey God's way of doing things.”
· “I am passionate about seeing true heartfelt worship and not just a performance on Sunday.”
· “I am afraid to let my Lord down by not being ready when called upon.”
· “What bothers me continuously is the example we are setting and showing for our youth.”

There were many others. And I have a couple of my own. I’ve been troubled lately by how thoroughly insulated I am; I have almost no contact with people who are not Christians. How do I “go and make disciples” when everyone I know is already a disciple? Also, a couple of friends from college have recently announced that they are homosexual. These are Christian friends—men that I love and respect. How do I acknowledge the complexity of their situations while also holding forth the simplicity of the gospel?
